Exercising Through your Period
That time of the month that Mother Nature blesses us with is something we usually don’t look forward to. Many women suffer from dysmenorrhea, which is the clinical term for a condition marked with severe menstrual pain. Cramps are the most common symptom that sometimes can be so painful that all we want to do is curl up in bed and call in sick to work.
There is something you can do to help relieve those menstrual cramps—exercise. Not only will you be one step closer to your goal, but regular exercise also helps reduce cramps, lessen the effects of PMS and even shorten the duration of your period!
Endorphins released during regular exercise help combat those chemicals that make us feel under the weather during our time of the month. Aerobic exercise is best during your period because it warms you up, raises your heart rate and works all the muscles in your body to help ease the pain. It can also help fight off those headaches that sometimes accompany your period.
The benefits of regular exercise seem endless—not only is it essential to getting the body you love fast, it can help you get through that pesky time of the month energized and cramp-free.
