Thyroid Health and You

I have been getting an increasing amount of ladies telling me about how they have been suffering from hypothyroidism and have gained weight because of it. SLIMQUICK should not be used to treat hypothyroidism, but if approved by a doctor, can be used in conjunction with treatment to lose weight.

Hypothyroidism is actually quite a common phenomenon in our society. It is estimated that about 3% to 5% of the population suffers from some form of hypothyroidism, and it is far more common in women. The incidence of hypothyroidism increases with age as well. Mild cases can be attributed to weight gain, depression and fatigue – which I am sure many women can actually relate to.

While you may not suffer from hypothyroidism, there are foods that you can eat to ensure that you have a happy and healthy thyroid. This will use the power of foods and healthy eating to ensure that your thyroid is functioning at optimal levels.

Foods that Naturally Boost Your Thyroid:

Eggs, Turkey, Beef, Fish, Seaweed, Shellfish, Coconut Oil, Walnuts, Pecans, Mushrooms

Foods that can Interfere with Thyroid Function:

Soy, Cabbage, Spinach, Peanuts

Just because foods are listed in the category that might interfere with your thyroid function, does not mean that you should avoid them completely. It may be just something to consider if you feel that you are suffering from a sluggish thyroid. But of course, if you are having any real concerns about the health of your thyroid gland then please consult your family doctor. Until next timeE1

I am so happy that so many people with hypothyroidism are taking a stand and spreading awareness! I am a 25 year old female and I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 3 years ago. I too started a blog recently about my experience being “hypo”. This website is full of great information so far…keep up the good work!

I too have hypo and it’s frustrating. It would be great to have a wait loss pill without the side effects. Wait, that’s diet and exercise :). Keep sharing
