Nikki’s Slimquick Success Story Update
Nikki august update side by side

In February of this year we shared the story of Nicole “Nikki” Blatkewicz on our blog. After a lifetime of struggling with her weight she decided to lose 40lbs by her 40th birthday as a gift to herself. Nikki had reached out to our customer service team with a question about our SLIMQUICK Pure Extra Strength Pills and mentioned she had lost 30lbs so far, we were happy to hear of her success using SLIMQUICK and joining our 25lb Challenge! We kept in touch with Nikki and we knew we had to share her story when she lost 60lbs in just 10 months! You can read Nikki’s February success story here. We’ve stayed in contact with Nikki since her February story and she has now lost almost 100lbs! Today we’re sharing an update from Nikki where she tells us about staying motivated, even with a back injury, and how support from her loved ones has kept her reaching for her goal! This is written in her own words because nobody tells her story better than Nikki herself.

I’m 15lbs short of 100lbs weight loss and it isn’t always easy, I still have my struggles. But I’m so happy and proud that I kept going.  I have learned that cheating on my diet is not the end of the world, it’s not even the end of my diet, I don’t beat myself up and do what I  can to get back on track as quickly as possible. I made little goals along the way, once I completed them, I rewarded myself with a cute work out outfit to show off my new curves. My husband and son encouraged me along the way too. They let me know how proud they are and it means a lot to have support at home. They also gave me some wireless headphones for my walks. I love my music, a random dance party is a great distraction from cravings, just turn up the music! Burn fat instead of giving into cravings.

My journey with Slimquick isn’t about a quick fix for weight loss, I have adapted it into my lifestyle. I would recommend Slimquick to help with your weight loss. It isn’t a quick fix, although I did see results within a week. You need to keep going, and keep your mind focused on what your goal is. Your strongest muscle and worst enemy is your mind, so train it well! Take it a day at a time. Those days will add up to weeks, and weeks to months. Imagine where you will be in a year, if you keep going!

Self-doubt can hold you back from manifesting what you want. If you are constantly fearful that you will fail, then chances are, there will always be resistance between you and what you want. My mind isn’t holding me back anymore, I feel confident and proud of myself. Don’t get me wrong I still have my moments of focusing on my flaws, I’m still not done my weight loss journey.

I had to scale back my exercise recently because of a back injury which was very frustrating! I wanted to go to the gym but couldn’t. Instead of stopping, I decided to re-evaluate, I could walk. So I walked for exercise and kept my mind focused on what I could do. I have a Fitbit to track my steps, it helps with my daily walking goals.

“If you can’t fly then run,

If you can’t run then walk,

If you can’t walk then crawl,

But whatever you do, you have to keep moving”

Martin Luther King Jr.

With my exercise being limited my food intake has to be on point, the 25 lb challenge and reading the Slimquick blog “Weight Loss Tips And Recipes” has helped me. I used to be scared of eating carbs, while I’m trying to lose weight. But now I eat carbs, I just get them from veggies and fruit. I’m not scared of food, I eat more for health then pleasure. I still have my treats, I love ice cream, so I sneak it in, once in a while. My favorite snack is Banana and Chia seeds. My go to meal is either chicken or salmon with broccoli or cauliflower and quinoa or brown rice (check out our recipe for Mediterranean Salmon with Sautéed Leek here). I always have chicken, cut up apples, and veggies in the fridge, so there is no room for error!  I have a jug of water with mint and lemon in the fridge and drink it throughout the day (Find out about the water-weight loss connection here). For the summer I use the Slimquick Pure Extra Strength Drink Mix. It’s yummy and refreshing. Just put it in a water bottle on the go or at the beach.

I haven’t taken my measurements along the way but have taken pictures, more selfie style pics. I do have a few full body pictures, I have to admit that I’m still not fully confident having my picture taken, that’s when my critical self tries to take over. It is neat to see the changes in my body throughout this weight loss journey, it does make me proud. I’m not sitting on the side lines wishing for it to happen, I took action and I’m doing it. You can too!

I look for inspiration everywhere, whether it be an inspirational quote, pictures or stories of other people on their weight loss journeys. Celebrities that inspire me are Fergie and JLo, they are over 40 and look fabulous, and still have curves. I can’t even put it into words how GREAT it feels when someone says, “Wow you look great”. I read a quote once, “It takes 4 weeks for you to notice your body changing, 8 weeks for your friends to notice, and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice. Give it 12 weeks. Don’t QUIT!” This has been so true for me, I had a ways to go, in the beginning only I and my family noticed my weight loss. In these next few month’s I’m excited to see more changes in my shape/body and tone up.
